I was asked by a future mom why I decided to do a pregnancy photoshoot. First of all, I want to say that it was one of the best decisions I have ever made. There are so many reasons why I think it is a must do, whether it is for a 1st child or for all the others to follow.

A maternity shoot is a photoshoot taken during pregnancy to capture the beauty and joy of this special time in a woman's life. It's a wonderful way to celebrate and document the pregnancy journey, and the resulting images can be cherished for years to come.

I do not remember a time where I felt more beautiful, in love, and hopeful. I wanted to remember this forever. I wanted to have a photoshoot that captured me as a future mom in all my big belly glory. I wanted our son to have some photos to look back at and see how much his mom and dad were happy he was in our lives. We wanted him to see love. We also wanted him to see us when we still HAD IT lol! ….With water in our faces and getting all the good sleep. I also wanted to take that moment to bond with my husband over something a little different than what our routine had become. I personally love photoshoots and made it habit to do at least once a year so I wanted to get creative with it. I picked different themes that showed different elements of how I felt at that very moment. I am so excited to share these photos with you all. I hope you are inspired, entertained, or at least, that your curiosity is satisfied!

If you're planning a maternity shoot, there are a few things to keep in mind to ensure that the experience is enjoyable and the photos turn out beautifully. Here are some tips:

  1. Choose a professional photographer: Look for a professional photographer who specializes in maternity photography. You want someone who has experience working with pregnant women and knows how to capture the beauty of this unique time in your life.

  2. Plan your outfit: Choose clothing that makes you feel comfortable and beautiful. Consider wearing something that shows off your baby bump, such as a form-fitting dress or a shirt that ties under the bust. You can also bring accessories such as hats, scarves, or jewelry to add some variety to your photos.

  3. Choose a location: Think about the type of environment you want for your photos. You could opt for a studio setting, or you could choose an outdoor location such as a park, beach, or garden. Make sure the location is easily accessible and has good lighting.

  4. Plan your poses: Your photographer will guide you through different poses, but it's always helpful to have some ideas in mind. Look online for inspiration or create a Pinterest board of poses you like.

  5. Include your partner and family: If you have a partner or other children, consider including them in the photoshoot. This is a wonderful way to capture the excitement and anticipation of the whole family.

Remember, the most important thing is to have fun and enjoy this special time in your life. Your maternity shoot will be a cherished memory that you can look back on with joy for years to come.
